Laura Sanders, who previously worked at Wells College, was named director of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs at Syracuse University.

After an extensive search process, the Division of Student Affairs has appointed Laura Sanders as the director of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs at Syracuse University, the university announced Tuesday.

Before her appointment, Sanders worked at Wells College in Aurora, New York, as an assistant director of communications and marketing, and, before that, the director of alumnae and alumni relations. She was also the assistant dean of students at Cornell University before that.

“As someone who greatly valued my own Greek experience, I look forward to supporting the many students involved in Greek life at Syracuse University,” said Sanders in an SU News release. “I feel passionately about meeting students where they are, helping them learn new things about themselves and the world, and working with them to make their community one in which they are proud.”

Eddie Banks-Crosson, who previously served as the director of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, left the university in August 2015 for a job as the director of fraternity and sorority life at the University of Pennsylvania.

The director before him resigned from SU in 2007 to take a job at Pennsylvania State University.

“We have a vibrant, engaged Greek community on campus and under Laura’s leadership, I know we will continue to see great development within the Greek community,” said Rebecca Reed Kantrowitz, senior vice president and dean of student affairs, in the release.
