Embrace Syracuse University’s first snow with festive events throughout the week. Unique gifts will be sold at the Winter Art Sale in the Shaffer Art Building, and a card-making workshop will take place at the SU Art Museum.

Design and Construct Fairy Land
Get in touch with your inner whimsy by hand-making fairy houses in Antiques West’s gallery. Participants can craft their own fairy-sized structures using natural materials like bark, stone and wood. The event is free and open to the public.
When: Dec. 2-9

Winter Art Sale
Searching for a special gift this holiday season? Look no further than the Winter Art Sale organized by the College of Visual and Performing Arts and the Shaped Clay Society. Items for sale include posters, prints, jewelry, glassware and printed vintage apparel. Whether you’re shopping for someone else or picking up something new for yourself, the items are sure to be creative and original. This event is open to the public.
When: Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m to 5 p.m.
Where: Shaffer Art Building, Lobby

Artist Talk: This Woman’s Work, Community Quilting & Storytelling ProjectLearn more about Black women’s contributions to central New York through the “This Woman’s Work, Community Quilting & Storytelling Project” with Dr. Rochele A. Royster. The exhibit includes contributions from 10 artists, who each focus on an important contribution of a Black woman starting in 1733. The art focuses on themes of community care and mutual aid. The event is free and open to the public.
When: Thursday, 6-8 p.m.
Where: Community Folk Art Center



Art Break: Cozy Season Art-Making
Take a break from the hectic holiday season with a cozy craft. The Syracuse University Art Museum is hosting a card-making workshop complete with hot beverages and snacks. Stamps, ribbon and other drawing materials will be provided to customize cards. This event is free and open to all.
When: Friday from 2-4 p.m.
