Silent Book Club
Ditch assigned readings at Peaks Coffee Company’s bi-monthly Silent Book Club Meeting on Oct. 19. Peaks will host an hour of silent reading followed by socializing from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Readers of all levels are encouraged to enjoy coffee, books and company. The event’s goal is “to be the most flexible book club you’ve been to! Come late, leave early, talk about what you’re reading, don’t talk to anyone— it’s totally up to you,” according to its website.

Scholars & Champs pop-up shop
Upgrade your Syracuse swag with vintage merch at Scholars & Champs’ first pop-up on SU’s campus. Scholars & Champs will host their biggest event ever at the lower level of the Campus Store with pieces including vintage SU sweatshirts, t-shirts, jackets, hats, jerseys and more. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 20.

Pet Therapy
Unwind with the company of furry friends at Pet Therapy. On Oct. 20, from 11:30 a.m to 1:00 p.m., Pet Therapy will be held in the Barnes Center. All with a student ID from SU or SUNY ESF are welcome to attend.

Run of the Dead
Grab your running shoes for the 11th annual Run of the Dead 5k race. Run for your life through wooded trails and mud while being chased by zombies. Racers will receive a flag-football-like belt ahead of the race, each flag ready to be pulled by zombies. Racers must complete the 5k with at least one health flag to finish the course. Admission includes access to food, drinks, music, vendors and a bonfire after the race. The Run of the Dead will take place on Oct. 21 at Wonderland Forest in Lafayette. Proceeds from the race will go to the Wilderness Search and Rescue Team.



Syracuse Hard Cider & Doughnut Fall Fest
Free doughnuts! Bar hop in downtown Syracuse on Oct. 21 for the Hard Cider & Doughnut Fall Fest. The four stops include Corner Bar, Clinton St. Pub, Quarter and Gilded Club and will offer drink deals on beers, ciders and seltzers. The festival will take place downtown from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. General admissions tickets are on sale for $32.07 and provide guaranteed entry, access to drink specials and free doughnuts.
