SA Briefs: 3 takeaways from Monday’s meeting (April 11)

SA members discussed ongoing elections, undergraduate research and the reusable bag initiative.

Here are three takeaways from Monday night’s Syracuse University Student Association meeting, held in Maxwell Auditorium:

Elections

Polls opened Monday for president and vice president, comptroller and assembly representatives. Voting will remain open until Thursday. Students are able to vote via MySlice.

Undergraduate research

SA officially launched applications for the undergraduate research program it is sponsoring. About 20 students will be chosen and each will be allocated $1,000 for their research. The application period closes April 20 at 6 p.m.



Reusable bag initiative

SA President Aysha Seedat reported that the reusable bag initiative that SA has been discussing since last semester has received positive feedback from many officials on campus. Seedat said that it is likely SA will be moving forward with the initiative.
