Former SU tight end Provo signs with Buffalo Bills

Former Syracuse tight end Nick Provo is the latest Orange product to join the Buffalo Bills.

After head coach Doug Marrone signed there this offseason and brought along offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, among a slew of other assistants, the Bills signed guard Zack Chibane as an undrafted rookie free agent.

Now Provo, who left SU with first-team all-Big East honors in 2011, is the next to join Syracuse West. He signed as a free agent Sunday after Bills tight end Mike Caussin was sidelined indefinitely with a hip injury.

After hauling in 92 career catches with the Orange, a school record among tight ends, Provo signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted rookie last year, but was cut before the start of the regular season.

This April he took part in the Bills’ minicamp.
