Fewer than 1,000 Pinstripe Bowl tickets remain for sale

The 10,000 tickets allotted to Syracuse University to sell to its fans for the Pinstripe Bowl game are nearly gone.

Of the 10,000 tickets allotted to the university, fewer than 1,000 remain, said Jeremiah Maher, associate athletic director for ticket operations.

The Syracuse Orange will take on West Virginia University on Dec. 29 at Yankee Stadium in New York City.

Maher said the athletic department is very pleased with the sales thus far.

“We’re already ahead of what we ended up with as our final sale in 2010,” he said.

It is expected, Maher said, that the remaining 1,000 tickets will sell out. The university is working with Yankee Stadium to secure more tickets to sell themselves so SU fans can sit together in the university’s designated section, he said.

Currently, the only tickets available are in the $130 and $215 price ranges, he said, but the university is working to secure more tickets at al price ranges.

The university discounted approximately 1,000 tickets for students, which first became available on the night of the announcement, Dec. 2, and sold out on Monday, Dec. 10, Maher said.

“It’s great for our fans and we’re happy that our fans have this much interest in going to the game,” he said. “It’s going to be a great game.”

Remaining tickets can be purchased from the Carrier Dome Box Office via phone and online, from suathletics.com/bowlcentral, which has the most up-to-date information on tickets.
